[Tip] How to Show or Hide IDM Video Download Panel in Web Browsers

IDM (Internet Download Manager) is one of the most popular file download manager programs available on Internet. IDM allows you to download files and videos from websites in your favorite web browser. It downloads files in parts which speeds up the download process. It supports all popular web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and the new Microsoft Edge web browser.

If you open a website in your web browser and the website contains one or more videos or if you select a download link in a website, IDM automatically shows a “Download this video” or “Download with IDM” panel near the video web-player or near the selected link. This video or file download panel can be used to directly download the video or file on your computer.

Sometimes the video download panel and file download panel stop showing on websites and users want to get it back in their web browser. On the other hand, there are some IDM users who don’t like the video or file download panel and want to disable or remove them from websites.

Today in this tutorial, we’ll tell you how to show or hide IDM video download panel in your web browser. If IDM video download panel disappeared in your browser and you want to restore it or if the video download panel is displaying in your browser but you want to get rid of it, this tutorial will help you.

IDM comes with built-in option to show or hide the video and file download panels and users can turn on or off the option to enable/disable the video download panel and file download panel in web browsers.

This tutorial will work in all web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer.

A. How to Enable and Show IDM Video Download Panel in Web Browsers:

First of all make sure IDM is properly integrated with your web browser. You can also manually integrate IDM with all web browsers using following tutorial:

Now do as following:

1. Open Internet Download Manager and click on Downloads -> Options menu.

2. In General tab, click on “Edit…” button given next to “Customize IDM Download panels in browsers” option.

3. It’ll open a new window. Now in “For web-players” tab, make sure “Full mode” option is selected under “Panel view” section.

Also click on “Check All” button given in “Show IDM download panel for the following file types” section.

Make sure “Don’t capture downloads from web-players automatically” checkbox is NOT selected.

Also enable “Show download panel for protected content which IDM may not download” option.

4. Now go to “For selected files” tab and make sure “Full mode” option is selected under “Panel view” section.

Also make sure “Show Download panel for any selected links” option is selected.

That’s it. Click on OK button to save changes.

It’ll restore IDM video download panel and file download panel in your web browser.

B. How to Disable and Hide IDM Video Download Panel in Web Browsers:

1. Open Internet Download Manager and click on Downloads -> Options menu.

2. In General tab, click on “Edit…” button given next to “Customize IDM Download panels in browsers” option.

3. It’ll open a new window. Now in “For web-players” tab, click on “Clear All” button given in “Show IDM download panel for the following file types” section.

Also enable “Don’t capture downloads from web-players automatically” checkbox.

4. Now go to “For selected files” tab and select “Don’t show Download panel for selected links” option.

That’s it. Click on OK button to save changes.

It’ll disable and remove IDM video download panel and file download panel in your web browser.
