Enable or Disable AI Tools and Services in Opera Browser

Newer versions of Opera web browser (version 97 and later) come with built-in AI (Artificial Intelligence) support. This article will help you in enabling or disabling AI-powered tools and services in Opera web browser.

Opera team has implemented various AI-powered tools such as AI prompts, AI chatbots (ChatGPT and ChatSonic) in Opera web browser.

These AI-powered tools and services are disabled by default and interested Opera users need to manually activate and enable them. If you are using a testing version of Opera web browser, these AI tools might be enabled for you automatically.

Now there might be two types of Opera users:

  • One who have AI tools enabled in Opera browser but didn’t like them and now want to disable them.
  • Second who haven’t the new AI tools enabled and want to activate and enable them right now.

Opera team has provided a built-in option which can be used to enable or disable the new AI tools and services in Opera browser.

If you want to enable or disable AI support in Opera, following steps will help you:

1. Launch Opera web browser, click on Opera Menu button and then click on Settings option. Alternatively you can directly launch Settings page by pressing Alt+P keys together.

2. Now click on “Features” tab or section present in left-sidebar.

3. In right-side pane, you’ll see “AI Prompts (Early Access)” option.

Set the toggle button given next to AI Prompts option to ON or OFF to enable/disable AI tools and services in Opera according to your requirements.

You can also enable/disable selected AI tools by turning on/off their toggles such as enable/disable ChatGPT and ChatSonic shortcuts in sidebar, AI prompts in address bar and text highlight popup.

PS: Same options are also present on Easy Setup sidebar or fly-out which can be accessed by clicking on the Easy Setup button present at the right-side of Opera toolbar.
