Enable 6 Hidden Secret Education Themes in Windows 11

Windows 11 2022 Update (version 22H2) comes with six hidden secret themes specifically designed for students using Windows 11 devices in schools. These new themes are not enabled on all Windows 11 devices. There is a Registry tweak to activate and enable these secret themes in any Windows 11 device which we are going to share in this article.

A theme consists of new wallpaper and predefined accent color, cursors and sound scheme to change look-n-feel of your Desktop.

Following is a small preview of these secret themes enabled in our Windows 11 device:

These 6 secret themes actually include 3 main themes in both light and dark modes which are as following:

• Flower Light
• Flower Dark
• Planets Light
• Planets Dark
• Sunset Light
• Sunset Dark

How to Activate / Enable Education Themes in Windows 11

If you also want to reveal and enjoy these secret themes in your Windows 11 computer, following steps will help you:

1. Press “WIN+R” key combination to launch RUN dialog box then type regedit and press Enter. It’ll open Registry Editor.

2. Now go to following key:

3. Under Device key, create a new key and set its name to Education

4. Now select Education key and in right-side pane, right-click and select “New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value” option. Set the new DWORD name as EnableEduThemes

Double-click on the DWORD and change its value to 1

5. Now you’ll need to restart computer or restart Explorer to apply changes.

6. After restart, right-click on Desktop and select Personalize option from the context menu. Alternatively, you can press WIN+I keys together to launch Settings app and click on “Personalization” section in left-side pane.

Now click on “Themes” option in right-side pane.

Now keep the Themes page opened for a few seconds and Windows 11 will start downloading all 6 secret themes from Microsoft server. You’ll see the new themes being added to themes list.

Once all themes are downloaded, you can select any desired theme to apply and use in your system.

PS: In future, if you decide to remove these secret Education themes from your Windows 11 device, delete the above mentioned DWORD from Registry.
