How to Download and Install Windows 11 2022 Update (22H2)

The first feature update for Windows 11 labeled as “Windows 11 2022 Update” has been released to public. This feature update was codenamed as Windows 11 version 22H2 and was under development and testing since many months and finally Microsoft has made it available for public use.

• New accessibility features including system wide live captions, voice access and natural voices for Narrator

Other previously announced features such as Tabs in File Explorer, redesigned Photos app, Taskbar overflow menu, etc will be rolled out in October (optional) and November (broadly) via Windows Update.

How to Get Windows 11 2022 Update in Your PC?

If you are already using Windows 11 in your device, you just need to check for updates and the new feature update will become visible in your PC.

Following steps will help you in downloading and installing Windows 11 2022 Update right now in your PC or laptop:

1. Open Settings app from Start Menu. You can also open Settings app directly by pressing WIN+I keys together.

2. Now click on Windows Update option present at the bottom of left-side pane.

3. Once you open Windows Update section, it’ll automatically start checking for new updates. Alternatively, you can click on “Check for updates” button.

4. Wait for a few minutes and if Windows 11 2022 Update is available for your device, it’ll appear on the updates page as shown in following screenshot:

How to Upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11 2022 Update?

If you are still using Windows 10 in your device and want to upgrade to the new Windows 11 2022 Update, following steps will help you:

1. Open Settings app from Start Menu. You can also open Settings app directly by pressing WIN+I keys together.

2. Click on Update & Security icon present on Settings homepage.

3. Once you open Windows Update section, it’ll automatically start checking for new updates. Otherwise you can click on “Check for updates” button.

4. If your Windows 10 device is compatible with Windows 11 i.e. meets minimum hardware requirements to run Windows 11, the 2022 Update will appear on the updates page.

If the update doesn’t appear, it means your device is not compatible with Windows 11.
