WhatsApp is a very popular instant messaging (IM) client for mobile phones. It allows you to chat with your friends and share documents, images, videos, audio clips quickly and easily. WhatsApp Inc. has released a standalone desktop app of WhatsApp Messenger for Windows and Mac operating systems which allows you to use WhatsApp on your computer. The new WhatsApp desktop app is similar to the previously announced WhatsApp Web version. It can be considered as an extension of your mobile phone as it mirrors the conversations and text messages from your smartphone to your PC.

Please note that you must be using Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 to be able to install WhatsApp desktop app. If you are a Mac user, you must be using Mac OS X 10.9 or higher version.

STEP 2:

After installing WhatsApp on your computer, run the app and it’ll ask you to scan the given QR code using the WhatsApp app on your mobile phone.

Open WhatsApp on your mobile phone and select Settings -> WhatsApp Web option. Point the mobile phone camera towards your computer screen and let it scan the QR code.

It’ll take a few moments depending upon your Internet speed and once the QR code is successfully scanned, the WhatsApp desktop app will start mirroring the WhatsApp content from your mobile phone on your PC.

Now you can use WhatsApp on your computer and can send text messages to your friends or share files without any problem.

NOTE:

Your mobile phone must be connected to the Internet in order to use WhatsApp on your computer as it mirrors the WhatsApp content from your mobile phone.
