[Tip] How to Make Calls Directly from Lock Screen Without Unlocking Your Mobile Phone?

SUMMARY: This article will help you in making calls directly from the Lock Screen in your Android smartphone. You’ll not need to unlock the mobile phone. The instructions given in this tutorial may differ for different brand mobile phones.

Recently I found myself in following situation:

I had to leave my 10 year old kid at home. I gave my secondary mobile phone to my kid so that he can call me whenever required or I can contact him. There were lots of important apps installed in that smartphone. Also I had many important documents so I didn’t want to tell him the lock code to unlock the smartphone. I just wanted to allow him to make call to my mobile number only in emergency.

Fortunately Google Android smartphones come with such feature where we can assign selected mobile numbers as emergency contacts and anyone can directly call those numbers from Lock Screen without any need of unlocking the mobile phone.

This feature might also come handy if you lose your mobile phone. In such situation if a good person gets your mobile phone, he can call you from Lock Screen and tell you where is your mobile phone currently so that you can get it back.

Sometimes you may need to call your family members urgently and the lock code, fingerprint, etc not working. In such condition, you can directly call them from lock screen without unlocking the phone.

So if you also want to put a few selected numbers on Lock Screen of your Android smartphone so that other people can call those numbers without unlocking the phone, following steps will help you:

1. Lock your smartphone by pressing the power button.

2. Don’t unlock it. Press power button to show Lock Screen.
