History of Call Recording in Mobile Phones

In older versions of Android operating system, call recording functionality was easy to enable. There were many 3rd party apps available on Play Store which could bring call recording in any Android smartphone.

But in newer versions of Android OS, Google restricted 3rd party apps from accessing some hardware part and removed the built-in API which was used by these apps to record calls. It resulted these call recording apps unable to record calls or work properly. Many people were rooting their Android smartphones to allow 3rd party call recording apps to access the required API and work properly.

To overcome this issue, many smartphone manufacturer companies such as Samsung started implementing a built-in native call recording feature in their phones. So if you buy a Samsung smartphone, you’ll get call recording functionality built-in. Similarly many other smartphone companies put native call recording feature in their mobile phones.

Recently Google also added much awaited call recording feature in its official Phone calling app, so you can enable call recording feature in your Android smartphone by installing Google Phone app from Play Store.
