[Tip] Simulate a Fake or Spoof Call on Your Smartphone Using Truecaller

I noticed a new feature called “Ghost Call” in Truecaller app for smartphones which allows users to make spoof or fake calls to their mobile phone number. This feature is available for premium users only, so you need to have a premium member subscription of Truecaller app to enjoy this new feature.

Using “Ghost Call” feature, you can schedule a fake call immediately or after a few minutes and at the scheduled time, your mobile phone will ring automatically and will show calling screen just like you received a real call.

You can set any desired caller name and calling number to display on fake calling screen. You can also select a saved contact in your smartphone to receive fake call from that contact.

Ghost Call feature can be used for fun purposes such as pranks but sometimes it might come very handy and useful if you want to leave a boring meeting or function. Just set a Ghost Call and your mobile phone will ring. You can also use Ghost Call feature to check how the new ringtone will play in your mobile phone.

If you are using Truecaller app in your smartphone and have premium membership, you can try Ghost Call feature with the help of following steps:

1. First of all launch Truecaller app. You’ll see 4 tabs at the bottom of the app such as Home, Contacts, Premium.

You can also select an existing contact saved in your mobile phone using “Pick a Contact” option.

At last, tap on “Schedule Call” option and you have successfully schedule a fake or spoof call on your smartphone.

At scheduled time, your mobile phone will automatically ring and you’ll see a dummy calling screen on your mobile phone displaying an incoming call.

Although the calling screen would be fully functional but remember the call is not real. You can use the buttons given on calling screen to receive or decline the call.

In my opinion, it’s a nice addition to Truecaller app and might come useful in future.
