[Tip] How to Download Windows 11 23H2 Offline ISO Files

NOTE: The methods given in this article will always download offline ISO files for the latest version of Windows 11. At the moment, you’ll be able to get offline ISO files for Windows 11 2023 Update, version 23H2.

If you are looking a way to download full standalone offline ISO files of Windows 11 operating system for clean installation, upgrade or virtual machine testing purpose, this article will help you in downloading genuine Windows 11 ISO file officially from Microsoft servers.

Windows 11 has been released to public and existing Windows 10 users can upgrade to Windows 11 for free if their computer hardware is compatible with the new operating system.

Many users will like to perform clean or fresh installation of Windows 11. If you are also planning to clean install Windows 11 in your machine, you’ll need its offline ISO file.

Similarly, if you want to upgrade your Windows 10 PC to Windows 11 manually, you can download Windows 11 setup ISO file, extract it using 7-Zip or other file archive utility or mount the ISO file in File Explorer and then run Setup.exe file to upgrade to Windows 11.

Also if you just want to test Windows 11 new features and changes, you can install Windows 11 in virtual machine and test drive Windows 11 without actually installing it in your device.

But it has changed after Windows 11 release. Microsoft has provided official Windows 11 offline ISO file for download to everyone and anyone can grab Windows 11 ISO directly from Microsoft.

In this article, we are going to share 2 easy methods to download and store Windows 11 offline ISO file officially from Microsoft website.

Let’s start the tutorial:

METHOD 1: Direct Download Windows 11 Offline ISO from Microsoft Website

This is the quickest and easiest way to download Windows 11 ISO from Microsoft.

Visit following official Microsoft webpage to access Windows 11 main download page:

After opening the website, scroll down and look for “Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO)” option which is given at 3rd position. The option description says ” This option is for users that want to create a bootable installation media (USB flash drive, DVD) or create a virtual machine (.ISO file) to install Windows 11. This download is a multi-edition ISO which uses your product key to unlock the correct edition”.

Now click on “Select Download” drop-down box and select “Windows 11” option from the drop-down list.

Click on “Download” button and the website will ask you to select product language. Scroll down and select desired language option from the “Product Language” drop-down box.

After selecting correct language option, click on “Confirm” button.

Microsoft website will immediately provide Windows 11 offline ISO for download. Click on “64-bit Download” button and your web browser or 3rd party Download Manager program will start downloading the ISO file.

The Windows 11 ISO file size is 5.120 GB.

Remember the direct download link for Windows 11 offline ISO file provided by Microsoft website is valid for 24 hours only from the time of creation. So you’ll need to download the file within 24 hours period, else you’ll need to generate new working download links using the above mentioned procedure again.

METHOD 2: Download Windows 11 Offline ISO Using Media Creation Tool

You can also use official Windows 11 Media Creation Tool (MCT) (or Setup Assistant) to download and store Windows 11 offline ISO file as mentioned in following steps:

First of all go to official Microsoft webpage to access Windows 11 main download page at following link:

Now look for “Create Windows 11 Installation Media” option which is given at 2nd position. The option description says “If you want to perform a reinstall or clean install of Windows 11 on a new or used PC, use this option to download the media creation tool to make a bootable USB or DVD”.

Click on “Download Now” button and it’ll download official Windows 11 Media Creation Tool (MCT) on your computer.

After downloading the MCT tool, run it and it’ll launch “Windows 11 Setup” window. It’ll show “Getting a few things ready” message for a few seconds and then you’ll need to accept license terms (EULA) by clicking on “Accept” button.

On next screen, you can select Windows 11 edition and language. By default, the setup tool will select the installed or host Windows version’s region and language. If you want to select a different language edition, uncheck “Use the recommended options for this PC” option and select desired language from the drop-down box.

Click on “Next” button and the tool will ask whether you want to create bootable USB flash drive for Windows 11 or want to download and save offline ISO file of Windows 11 setup.

Since we want to download Windows 11 offline ISO file, select “ISO File” option and click on “Next” button.

The tool will open Browse window asking you to select desired location to save the downloaded offline ISO file. Select any folder to store Windows 11 ISO file.

That’s it. The tool will start downloading Windows 11 offline ISO file and will show the progress.

Once the download is complete, you’ll see “Burn the ISO file to a DVD” message along with a link to open downloaded offline ISO file in File Explorer.

Click on “Finish” button and the tool will erase or clean temporary files from your hard disk. You’ll see “Setup is cleaning up before it closes” message.

Congratulations. You have successfully downloaded Windows 11 offline ISO file.

After downloading Windows 11 ISO file, you can burn it to a DVD using disc burning software or create a bootable USB drive to install Windows 11 in your computer system. If Windows 11 setup wizard asks for a product key (or serial key) at the installation time, you can either skip entering product key or use following keys to complete the installation process:

You can also enter a valid product key of genuine Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 10 operating systems. Please note if you are already using an activated copy of Windows 10 in your computer system, you can skip entering the product key at the time of Windows 11 installation and after installation, Windows 11 should automatically activate itself.

  2. It’s true, Moment 4 update is the big major update that fixed much number of bugs, but only one problem, Microsoft still not updated Moment 4 update ISO image, so how to get Windows 11 ISO image (included with Moment 4 update)?
