Windows 10 Users will Get Free Upgrade to Windows 11, Here is How to Check?

After watching the live event or reading about the announcement of Windows 11, many Windows 10 users might be thinking what will happen to Windows 10? Will they get free upgrade to Windows 11? Will Microsoft keep supporting Windows 10 in future? etc.

POINT 1:

Microsoft will keep supporting Windows 10 till October 14, 2025. So you can stay on Windows 10 if you want to keep using it.

POINT 2:

Microsoft will release new feature update 21H2 for Windows 10 later this year. It’s not clear whether it’ll be the last feature update for Windows 10 or Microsoft will keep releasing more feature updates for Windows 10 in future.

POINT 3:

Microsoft will provide FREE upgrade to Windows 11 for eligible Windows 10 devices which meet system requirements to support Windows 11.

POINT 6:

Once you upgrade your Windows 10 device to Windows 11, there will be a 10-day grace period where you can go back to Windows 10. After 10 days, you’ll not be able to move back to Windows 10. Of course, you can format and clean install Windows 10 again.

  2. What does the Win 11 upgrade screen look like? I have been seeing a screen that automatically goes to full screen and says only “Please wait your computer is updating 25 % complete Do not turn off your computer”
    There is no mention of Microsoft or any version of Windows. I have been disconnecting from the internet when I see this. Any idea what’s going on?

  3. ^^ The screen indicates that Windows is installing regular updates. You’ll need to wait until it completes the installation.
