[Tip] Hide or Remove Title Bar in Vertical Tabs Mode in Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge web browser comes with a very useful feature called “Vertical Tabs“. With the help of this feature, users can move the tab bar from top to the left-side pane in the browser.

Usually all web browsers display all opened tabs at the top in the built-in tab bar but Microsoft Edge allows users to remove the tabs from top and show them in form of a left sidebar.

Following screenshot shows Vertical Tabs feature live in action in Microsoft Edge web browser:

Vertical Tabs feature is a great addition specially for wide screen users. But there is a glitch or bug in the Vertical Tabs feature which is the annoying title bar which still displays at the top in the browser window. Because of the extra unnecessary title bar showing at the top, the purpose of Vertical Tabs fails as the user doesn’t get any extra free space in the browser window. The whole space which was previously occupied by the Tab bar, is now automatically grabbed by the title bar.

Many users complained and requested Microsoft to remove the title bar from Vertical Tabs mode and finally Microsoft has listened to the requests.

Newer versions of Microsoft Edge (version 91 and later) allow users to hide or remove title bar in Vertical Tabs mode. The feature is disabled by default and interested users are required to modify a hidden preference/flag to enable it.
