Pinguy OS an excellent Linux operating system for all kind of computer users.
This OS has been specially created for people that have never used any Linux distro before or for people that just want an out-of-the-box working Linux OS without doing all the tweaks and enhancements that everyone seems to do when installing a fresh copy of Ubuntu or other Linux based Distro's.
Pinguy OS is actually an optimized build of Ubuntu 10.10 Minimal CD with added repositories, tweaks and enhancements that can run as a Live DVD or be installed. It has almost all the added packages needed for video, music and web content e.g. flash and java, plus a few fixes as well. Like fixing the wireless problems, gwibber’s Facebook problem and flash videos in full-screen.
Nautilus has been replaced for Elementary-Nautilus with added plug-ins so it can get music and video art from the web. The default theme is Elementary using ttf-droid font with Docky and a custom Conky.

It also has DVB support to Totem for anyone with a TV card that wants to watch tv on their PC but doesn't want to install a dedicated program like myth-tv.
All the programs in Pinguy OS have been chosen because of their ease of use and functionality, Every file type have also been changed to open with the right program, like for some reason by default .iso are opened with Archive Manager so it has been changed that to Brasero Disc Burner.

I must say, from your review, it sounds like a great distro!
Christian

I already tried ubuntu 10.10
VG

YOUR MOM
IT looks an mac I am not touching it.

^Get a load of respect, or get out. VG puts in a lot of work into this website, trying to make it a great place, and nobody needs jerk commenters like you messing it up. Maybe it does look like a Mac, but it's still linux, no source code was stolen! If you don't want to use it fine, keep it to yourself, nobody CARES if you're going to touch it, VG put this up here because it might be useful to some people, which it is. And what's with that "Name"?
mona
thankyou

Lol @"YOUR MOM", a very interesting name which VG should probably replace but your an idiot none the less. Linux looks like a Mac true but its far better than a mac (Because of the price: FREE!) and has always worked better than a windows PC. like Ryan says no source code is stolen so its completely separate.
all i can suggest is look at it and youll find that its much more fun than your current OS.
SuperSoldier
@"YOUR MOM" Dude, it could've been UR MOM, not YOUR MOM.

Sounded like an awesome distro so I downloaded it. While installing it in VMware the installer crashed twice in the same point in the install progress. I dunno if it just don't like VMware or what the problem was...

I faced the same problem with VMware Workstation 7.1 but on VirtualBox it works fine :)
