[Tip] Show User Profile Icon in Title bar in Microsoft Edge

This article will help you in moving the User Profile icon from the toolbar and showing it in the title bar in Microsoft Edge web browser. You can use this tip to free up some extra space on the browser toolbar.

The user profile icon is also known as user account or user avatar button. It helps Microsoft Edge users in accessing and managing their browser profile easily and quickly. You can sign into your user profile and sync the browser data such as cache, history, settings across multiple devices.

Following screenshot shows the user profile icon showing in the title bar in Microsoft Edge web browser:

As you can see the profile icon is shown at the top-left corner of Microsoft Edge window near the tab actions menu button. Since almost all modern web browsers show the tabs in the title bar, the title bar is now also referred as tab bar.

In my opinion, the profile icon looks better in the title bar compared to the toolbar. Also it helps in reducing the icon clutter present on the toolbar.

BONUS TIP: Another Hidden Secret Preference for Basic Toolbar and Title bar

When you’ll search for “minimal” string on Edge://flags page, you’ll also get another option on the page as following:

This preference will allow Edge users getting a minimal clutter-free title bar and toolbar expereince. At the moment, this preference only works in testing versions of Edge such as Dev and Canary. Stable version will get the functionality in future versions.
