[Tip] Set a Blank Empty Page as Homepage in Chrome on Android

Almost all Google Android smartphones come with Google Chrome web browse preinstalled or built-in and we all use Chrome app to browse websites in our Android mobile phones.

When we launch Chrome app in our mobile phone, it opens the default homepage or start page which shows Google logo, search box and frequently or recently visited websites icons or pinned shortcuts. The homepage also shows news feed containing several sponsored, promoted and interest-based news articles taken from 3rd party websites.

Following screenshot shows default homepage in Chrome app:

Many Chrome users may not like this default homepage and may want to set an absolute blank or empty page as homepage so that whenever they open Chrome app, it shows a blank page without any clutter. Personally I also like minimal and blank homepages in web browsers.

In this article, we’ll tell you how to set a blank page as homepage or start page in Chrome on Android mobile phones. Once you follow the steps given in this tutorial, you’ll be able to enjoy a clean empty homepage in Chrome app in your smartphone.

Let’s start the tutorial:

IMPORTANT NOTE 2: You can also use Chrome://restart command in address bar to completely restart Google Chrome and apply changes.

NOTE: In future, if you decide to restore default homepage in Chrome, tap on Reset button present on Homepage settings page which we modified in steps 3 and 4.
