[Tip] Restore Page Setup Menu for Printing in Firefox

If you want to bring back Page Setup option in Mozilla Firefox to customize print output, this article will help you.

Mozilla Firefox web browser comes with a hidden secret preference/flag to restore “Page Setup” option. Once you modify the preference, it adds a new option “Page Setup” to Firefox Menubar as shown in following screenshot:

Once you click on Page Setup option, it opens a new window where you can change or customize various printing parameters such as page orientation (portrait/landscape), shrink to fit page width, manually adjust page width, print background, margins (top/left/right/bottom) and customize headers/footers for left/right/center. You can set the headers and footers to display page title, URL, date/time, page number or set a customized string.

If you also want to enable this hidden secret Page Setup menu to customize print output in Firefox web browser, following steps will help you:

1. Open Firefox and type about:config in the addressbar and press Enter. It’ll show you a warning message, click on “Accept the Risk and Continue” button. It’ll open Firefox’s hidden secret advanced configuration page i.e. about:config page.

2. Now type page_setup in Search filter box and you’ll see following preference in the window:

3. Double-click on the preference print.show_page_setup_menu and set its value to true. Alternatively, you can click on the Toggle icon given next to the preference name.

It’ll immediately add Page Setup option to Firefox Menubar.

4. Now press ALT key on your keyboard to show Menubar in Firefox. Click on File menu and select Page Setup option.

You can permanently show Menubar in Firefox by right-clicking on the tab bar and selecting Menu Bar option from the context menu.

PS: In future, if you decide to remove Page Setup option from Firefox, set the above mentioned preference to false again.
