Now users have started a similar issue which is not fixed by the solution given in above mentioned tutorial.

Many Chrome users contacted us regarding this irritating issue. Whenever they click inside text input objects on websites such as textbox, search box, etc, Chrome automatically highlights the focused boxes with a black border outline which looks ugly.

Following screenshot shows the black border outline highlighting text input box in Google Chrome web browser:

If you want to disable this border outline in Chrome, following steps will help you.

Actually it’s a built-in feature of Google Chrome which is a part of accessibility. Sometimes this feature is accidentally activated or enabled by the user while modifying Chrome Settings or sometimes a 3rd party extension/add-on enables this option and the user starts getting black border outline on text boxes.

You just need to turn off i.e. disable this accessibility option using Chrome Settings page and the black border outline around text input fields will disappear.

1. Open Google Chrome web browser, click on 3-dots menu and select Settings option. Alternatively, you can directly open the Settings page by typing chrome://settings/ in Chrome address bar.

2. It’ll open Chrome Settings page. Scroll down to bottom and click on “Advanced” link.

3. Again scroll down and you’ll see “Show a quick highlight on the focused object” option present under “Accessibility” section.

If this option is enabled, Chrome will show black border outline around text boxes on webpages.

To remove the black border outline, disable the option by setting the toggle button to OFF.

That’s it. It’ll immediately remove the black border outline. Now you can click inside any text input fields on webpages and Chrome will never highlight them with black border outline.
