  1. Why Google Chrome adds several processes in TaskManager?

I have 5 different chrome.exe processes running at the same time? Is this normal?

    I have a Windows 7 x64

  2. ^^ Its because you are using 5 tabs in browser. Each tab runs in separate process so that if a tab crashes, it doesnt crash the whole browser window.

  3. No, i had only 1 tab open when i saw those 5 processes running, when my opened second tab my processes increased to 6 and 7….

  4. And i got those 5 processes running when i opened my chrome at first time ever, immediately there was those 5 processes running though only 1 tab was open…really weird browser indeed!

Maybe i keep Opera my main browser, it takes now 200k of memory while 7 extensions are running, maybe Opera is the best, chrome looked little weird and messy for me, and i don’t like how chrome closes the browser when closing all tabs, it’s kinda very annoying!

  5. ^^^^
Chrome always take a lot of memory while running so that it doesn’t crash or to increase the speed of the chrome browser.

  6. Chrome preloads processes so they are ready for new tabs, plus extensions take a process… hit SHIFT+ESC in Chrome,it will show you what’s running…
