[Tip] Set Custom Images as Background on New Tab Page in Microsoft Edge

In this tutorial, we’ll tell you how to set your desired wallpaper or image as background on New Tab Page (NTP) in Microsoft Edge web browser.

If you are using new Microsoft Edge web browser in your computer system, you might be aware of the fact that the browser allows users to customize and change New Tab Page appearance by selecting any of following options: Focused, Inspirational and Informational.

If you want a clean and minimal New Tab Page (also known as Start Page or Homepage), you can select Focused type using Tools (cog wheel) icon present on New Tab Page.

Other types such as Inspirational and Informational show extra elements such as news articles, etc along with a background image which is taken from Bing’s Image of the Day feature.

In past, the background image on New Tab Page was automatically selected and changed by Microsoft Edge web browser and users had no option to change it.

Now newer versions of Microsoft Edge browser (version 86.0 and later) come with a new feature which allows users to select and set their desired image as background on New Tab Page.

So now you can change the background image and set any desired wallpaper as New Tab Page background.

1. Open Microsoft Edge browser and it’ll show the New Tab page.

2. Click on the Settings or Customize (cog wheel) icon present at the top-right corner of New Tab page.

3. Now select Custom option given under Page Layout section.

4. Now you’ll see Background option.

To select desired image, click on “Your own image” option. You’ll get a button “Upload” below the option.

Click on Upload button and select desired image using Browse window.

That’s it. It’ll immediately apply and set your custom image as background image on New Tab Page.

5. If you want to change or remove the background image, again go to “Your own image” option and to change the image, click on the small thumbnail of the current background image and it’ll open Browse window to select different image.

If you want to remove the background image, click on “Remove” button.
