[Tip] Restore and Get Back Classic System Properties in Windows 10

Recently lots of readers contacted me and asked me how to restore missing classic System Properties in Windows 10? Actually Microsoft has removed (sort of) classic System Properties window from newer versions of Windows 10 (version 20H2 and later). Now Windows 10 no longer allows users to access and open classic System Properties window which was available in Windows Vista and later Windows versions.

If you installed or upgraded to newer version of Windows 10 and you try to launch System Properties from Control Panel, Windows 10 now redirects you to the modern About page located in Settings app.

Following screenshot shows new modern About page available in Windows 10 Settings app which is now opened by default whenever you try to launch classic System Properties from Control Panel:

We’re continuing to work on bringing capabilities from Control Panel forward into Settings. As part of this ongoing effort, we are migrating information found in Control Panel’s System page into the Settings About page under Settings > System > About. Links that would open the System page in Control Panel will now direct you to About in Settings. We are also bringing new improvements like making your device information copyable and streamlining the security information shown. And don’t worry – if you’re looking for more advanced controls that lived in the System page in Control Panel, you can still get to them from the modern About page if you need them! There will be more improvements coming that will further bring Settings closer to Control Panel.

  1. The reason I downloaded this new one was because my mouse and touch pad cursor keeps jumping my letters around that I type and also because it also erases my letters and messages altogether and I have to start it all over again , I admit I am not computer savey as they say I did okay on windows 7 , I did not have that problem on windows 7 .I am 84 years of age but I did have a typing program on my computer that I had a number of years ago
