How to Select Multiple Tabs and Drag to New Window in Opera

The much awaited and highly requested feature to drag selection of multiple tabs to move them to a new window has finally arrived in Opera web browser. This article will help you in activating and enabling this feature in Opera web browser.

Opera web browser was missing this feature since many years and people were regularly complaining about it to Opera team. We are talking about the missing drag-n-drop of multiple tabs feature in Opera web browser.

In all other web browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox, users can select multiple tabs by holding the Shift or Ctrl key on the keyboard and clicking on desired tabs on the tab bar and then users can drag the highlighted or selected tabs anywhere to move them to a new browser window.

But in Opera web browser, this basic action was not possible. Although Opera users could select multiple tabs by pressing Ctrl key and clicking on desired tabs but the drag functionality of multiple tabs was restricted. Whenever the user tried to drag selected tabs to create a new window, only the current highlighted single tab was moved or detached instead of the whole selection of tabs.

If you are using an older version of Opera web browser or if the feature is not yet enabled in your web browser, you can manually turn on the feature by modifying a hidden secret preference/flag.
