There is a page from Microsoft TechNet containing a list of 7 generic product keys for Windows XP and Whistler.

Lots of websites and software sellers cheat people by telling them that these are genuine XP product keys and can be used to activate Windows without any problem.

They even ask for money to provide these keys but the worst thing is the keys are blacklisted at Microsoft and you'll not be able to use them to activate your Windows. Although you can use the keys to install Windows for approx. 14 days.

So don't believe anyone who claims to provide these keys. Purchase a genuine license and enjoy it.

Microsoft provided these keys to teach how to deploy Windows XP using Windows Product Activation (WPA):

Even Microsoft has clearly mentioned about these product keys:

The product keys listed in this section can be used with any of the answer files and scripted examples. They are blocked at the Microsoft clearinghouse and therefore cannot be used to activate any systems. They provide a number of days (assume 14 days) for you to complete the activation process.

So don't believe anyone providing these blocked keys, don't waste your money on these blocked keys and buy a genuine Windows license from Microsoft.
