[BUG] New Windows Vista Bug Found in Creating New Shortcut

Here is another irritating Vista bug which I found yesterday while compiling the "Shortcuts to various Desktop Properties tabs" tutorial.

Following are the steps with screenshots to re-create the bug:

1. Following is the default Windows Vista Desktop context menu:

2. Right-click on the Desktop or in the Explorer and select "New -> Shortcut".

3. It'll open "Create Shortcut Wizard":

4. Now either click on "Cancel" button or press "Esc" key to exit from the wizard and get ready to see the bug.

Again right-click on Desktop and you'll see a new entry "Undo Apply Properties". Properties? What Properties? Which properties? Did I apply any property which I should undo now? Weird.

OK. Not a big issue but try to click on this new entry and you'll be surprised to see an error message:

WTH??? Windows can't find the new shortcut which I never created. Keep clicking on "Try Again" button and it'll keep showing the same error message again and again. Now click on "Cancel" button and the "Undo Apply Properties" option will change to "Undo":

Click on "Undo" and it'll change to "Redo":

Keep clicking on both these options and enjoy the endless loop unless you End Task of Explorer or log off/restart your system.

  • wow there are so many bugs in windows vista  are there as many bugs in windows xp? Is vista better than windows xp? i've always heard from my friends that windows xp is still better but can i hear your opinion? i'm still doubting whether i should upgrade my operating system.

  • In my opinion Vista is much more better than XP !

Vista is more secure and faster than XP.

But you need atleast 2-4 GB of RAM and good processer to enjoy it.

If you don't have atleast 2gb RAM , Stick with xp !

Yep. Vista is definitely better than XP. Better security, better features. If you have 1GB RAM, then you should definitely upgrade to Vista.

  • LOL,

That was funny. Well i tryed on mine machine and i got that too. Well that is interesting.

  • Well I Think Vista Is A Piece of Junk. We Don't Need It.... For 16000 Rupee I Will Stay With XP SP3....

It Have Better Stability Also Faster Gaming FPS Faster Hardware Support Etc...

  • its like a mini game to spend your time.
But yeah atleast these bugs are not critical.
