[Tip] How to Enable or Disable “Window Naming” Feature in Chrome and Edge

This article will help you in enabling or disabling a new feature called “Window Naming” or “Name a Window” in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge web browsers. You’ll also learn how to use this new feature in both browsers.

New versions of Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge web browsers come with a brand new feature called Window Naming which allows users to set desired names or labels to these browser windows. Once the user sets names to one or more windows, the new names become visible in Taskbar buttons of these web browsers as well as in Alt+Tab switcher screen.

This new feature has been developed to help users in easily distinguish multiple windows running of their favorite web browser. For example, you have opened multiple windows of Chrome or Edge browser. Now you can define separate names to these windows such as Office, Home, Education, Fun, etc so that you can switch to desired window easily and quickly by having a glance over their names.
