Macbuntu is an open-source program which has been designed to transform your Linux operating system into Mac OS X. Although Macbuntu is dedicated to Ubuntu Linux OS, it could be used in other OS based on Debian/GTK. This transformation pack makes Linux OS look-like Mac OS X.
Following is a preview of this skin pack in action:
The Macbuntu installation is extremely easy. If you're interested in installing this, but afraid of messing anything up, keep in mind that there is an uninstall option that is extremely painless and it restores all of your original settings!
How to Install:
- Download the transformation pack using the links given at the end of this topic and save it to your Desktop.
- Extract the package to your Desktop. You can do this by right clicking and selecting "Extract Here" from the menu.
- Open a terminal and type cd Desktop/Macbuntu-10.10/ and press enter.
- Now type ./install.sh and press enter.
- Follow the directions and answer a few questions and it does all of the rest.
How to Uninstall:
- If you've deleted the original files that your extracted before, re-download them and extract them using the same steps as before.
- Open a terminal and type cd Desktop/Macbuntu-10.10/ and press enter.
- Now type ./uninstall.sh and press enter.
- Follow any directions or quick questions and before you know it, things will be back to the way they were before.

I tried it but I am a noob.
Opened terminal put the two commands worked.
But then asks for a password. There I am stuck.
Cant type anything. So dont know what to do next.

^^Type the password of your user account. And you don't need two commands. Do this:
1.Download file the tar.gz file and extract it.
2. Open the folder where you extracted it. You should see install.sh, at this point, open the terminal.(its available on the top applications menu>Accessories) Drag the install.sh file on to the terminal window. and press enter.
3. Answer those questions it shows you. It will prompt you to restart, if not, restart manually.
I have downloaded it and tried it. It works well. So zlily and Prashant please download again and give it a try. eezdva, hope I helped.
I have only one comment, it lacks the cover flow view of browsing files, other than that it is exactly the same as my Hackintosh!

Works great in Ubuntu 10.10
It is recomended to have a graphics card with 256MB memory and latest driver to enjoy the full eycandy. Love the mac look. Thanks Vishal Da....
