^^ I tried that way. I extracted the ISO file and run setup.exe file. Setup runs successfully. But there was no option to select partition. And the installation doesn’t go beyond 3%. I almost waited for 2 hours. But installation stuck there.
^^ I have installed Windows 10 in a few Windows 8.1 PCs using the same method. 🙂
^^ Actually I was running wrong setup file. After running setup file present in “sources” folder, I successfully installed windows 10. Thanx for your help.
hey VG,
I am not sure if this is correct forum to ask this question.
I purchased a laptop with win vista OEM and I would like to upgrade from vista to win 8.
I wanted to know if it is possible to upgrade from vista to windows 8 without buying as I already own vista OEM licence key.
I have checked several sites but couldn’t find answer. Could you please clarify that for me??
I have a Windows 8.1 Laptop and want to install Windows 10 as a dual boot O S and if for any reason want to remove the technical preview will it again return my laptop to the original state as it was working in single O S and if it is possible please tell me the steps
^^ Of course. Run Windows 10 setup.exe file and select a different partition to install Windows 10. Then you’ll have dual boot system. In future you can remove Windows 10 anytime you want.

New update now includes Notification Center feature (previously hidden in v9841).
Warning for Dell Venue 8 tablet users!!!! I evaluated this on a laptop using VMware, very promising. So promising I also installed it on the Dell Venue 8 Pro Tablet. The tablet side needs more work, besides the bluetooth wasn’t compatible, the gesture interface is not ready, IMHO. So much I tried to do a full recovery from the installation media that I created. Unfortunately, the recovery won’t work because recovery does not allow installation unless it is plugged in. Well the tablet only has one USB port used to charge or connect a OTG USB cable. I can’t connect power and a USB at the same time. I need a special cable that is not available from Dell or anywhere other than some vendor from China. The Windows based recovery erased and reinstall Window 10 TP, and wiped out all Dell apps/drivers. I was better off leaving the TP inlace. What a nightmare!!!
If i download Windows 10 can i use it forever??????????? And is this once in a lifetime kinda thing

^^ You can download Windows 10 from any OS but its a testing version so it’ll expire on April 15, 2015.

I recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 8.1, x64 installed. However, In my old computer that bit the dust I had Windows 8.1 pro, x64 installed. I had upgraded from my DVD. Since my new laptop has 8.1 installed and I have the 8 Pro upgrade disk, will it be possible for me to get windows 10 Pro x64? And, will I have to downgrade to Windows 8 and then upgrade to Pro before I can get 10 Pro?
^^ You’ll get Windows 10 Pro only if you have Windows 8.1 Pro installed. You cant upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 8. You’ll need Windows 8.1 in your system.
What you can do is, first install Windows 8 Pro, then update it to Windows 8.1 Pro using Windows Update and then you’ll be able to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.

I have windows 7 Home with the Service Pack 1 installed. I received the reservation notice and reserved my copy months ago, however upon clicking the option to check my PC for compatibility, it says that certain components will not function (ie, it will not be able to connect to the internet) despite having SP1. Is this an error? Is it fixable?
I’m trying to downloads 10 (I have 8.1). The computer tells me I need the Windows 10 app to reserve a copy but I can’t seem to find how to download the Windows 10 APP.
Can you advise how I get The Windows 10 App so I can reserve my Free Windows 10 copy?

Is there any way to get Windows downloaded compressed to the least? I can’t download 2-3GBs.
I am only one of the few snorting it up – have 2 computers with the latest one at least 2 yrs
old and with both of them signing ” Hero not listed on this computer”.
I am 79 yrs young and likely to come this age.
Is there a classified way that you can see your way clear?
