Windows 10 Mobile Phone Users Must Download and Install This Last Update Before End of Support

If you are still using a Windows Phone device, You should definitely read this important article. Microsoft has ended service support for Windows 10 Mobile operating system and Windows Phones on December 10, 2019 which means Microsoft will no longer release any update in future for Windows Phones.

Microsoft launched Windows Phones in year 2010 to compete with Apple’s iPhones and Google Android mobile phones. Many people liked Windows Phones and used them as primary mobile phones. Microsoft also released several Insider Preview builds for Windows 10 Mobiles in past.

In 2017, Microsoft announced to stop working on Windows 10 Mobile operating system due to lack of interest from app developers.

In January 2019, Microsoft announced that the company will end supporting Windows 10 Mobile phones on December 10, 2019 and the day has come.

Now Microsoft will stop releasing updates, fixes and patches for Windows 10 mobile phones and if you are using a Windows Phone device such as Nokia/Microsoft Lumia phones, you should consider to switch to Android mobile phones or iPhones.

Before ending support, Microsoft released the last and final update for Windows 10 Mobiles which is named as “KB4522812”. It was released on December 10, 2019, the same day when Microsoft ended support for Windows Phones.

This latest security update KB4522812 includes quality improvements and all the improvements from KB4530714 update. This update will upgrade the OS build number to 15254.600.

Some of the key features of this final update are as following:

  • Improves security when Windows performs basic operations.
  • Improve security when using external devices (such as game controllers and web cameras).
  • Addresses an issue in which the Microsoft Store might fail to open on Windows on Arm.
  • Security updates to Windows Virtualization, Windows Kernel, Windows Peripherals, the Microsoft Scripting Engine, and Windows Server.

If you installed earlier updates, only the new fixes contained in this package will be downloaded and installed on your device.

  1. Hello Sir,
    When we start(boot) our laptop or desktop, Windows logo always appears during boot (this happens if boot mode set in legacy and Windows installed in legacy mode), but in some desktop and laptop, device manufacturer logo always appears during boot (this happens if boot mode set in UEFI and Windows installed in UEFI mode completely).
    So my question, is it possible to customize logo or customize boot style (i mean look only, not process)?

  2. ^^ Those logos are stored in BIOS files. There are software available to customize it but I never suggest to use them as it may break BIOS and make your system not bootable.
