[Changelog] What’s New in Windows 10 November 2021 Update (Version 21H2)

UPDATE: Addition of Windows 10 Insider Preview build 19044.2075.

Microsoft has announced about Windows 10 21H2 feature update which will be a small update or service pack for Windows 10 and will be released in second half of 2021 i.e. later this year.

21H2 will come with limited new features and changes focused on productivity, security and management. It’ll be delivered via Windows Updates in form of a regular cumulative update.

If you sync your activity history across your devices using your Microsoft account (MSA), you cannot upload new activity into the Timeline. You can still use Timeline and see your activity history (information about recent apps, websites, and files) on your local device. This does not affect Azure Active Directory (AAD) accounts. To view web history, Microsoft Edge and other browsers provide the option to view recent web activities. You can also view recently used files using Microsoft OneDrive and Microsoft Office.

  • Adding WPA3 H2E standards support for enhanced Wi-Fi security.
  • Windows Hello for Business introduces a new deployment method called cloud trust to support simplified passwordless deployments and achieve a deploy-to-run state within a few minutes.
  • GPU compute support in the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) and Azure IoT Edge for Linux on Windows (EFLOW) deployments for machine learning and other compute intensive workflows.
  • Added the “Target Product Version” policy. With this, administrators can specify the Windows product they want devices to migrate to or remain on (for example, Windows 10 or Windows 11).
  • Increased the default number of entries in the local security authority (LSA) Lookup Cache to improve lookup performance in high lookup volume scenarios.

  • Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.0 and 1.1 turned off by default in Microsoft browsers and applications.
  • Added the ability to search for the controls for news and interests on the taskbar and modify them using the Settings app. To change your settings, navigate to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > News and interests. Otherwise, right-click the taskbar and select Taskbar settings.
  • Supported all taskbar orientations for news and interests. A top, left, or right taskbar now has features and settings much like the horizontal taskbar.
