[Tip] Turn On and Customize Text Cursor Indicator in Windows 10

Newer versions of Windows 10 operating system come with a new and very useful accessibility (ease of access) feature called Text Cursor Indicator. This feature helps users in finding the text cursor quickly and easily while typing a document in a program such as Notepad, Microsoft Word, web browsers, etc.

By default the text cursor is shown very small in size. It just shows a very thin line and some users may face difficulties in finding the text cursor while typing documents.

To help such users, Microsoft introduced Text Cursor Indicator feature in Windows 10 which shows a colored indicator at the top and bottom of the text cursor which makes it extremely easy to see the cursor in large documents.

  1. Under Ease o9f Access I have a single combined option or “Cursor & pointer”. My Windows is up to date with ALL updates. Do I need any thing special installed for the Text Cursor option that you show in the article to be available?

Although the mouse pointer is also supposed to disappear soon as I start typing where the pointer is, it never has. Only mouse pointer feature that actually functions is the Ctrl key to find it on the screen !!

  2. ^^ Open RUN dialog box using WIN+R hotkey and type winver command. Now check what Windows version is displayed.
