[Tip] Remove New Keyboard Toolbar in Samsung Galaxy Smartphones
In new Samsung Galaxy smartphones which have the new Google Android 8.0 Oreo firmware such as S9, S9+, S8, S8+, S7, S7 Edge, Note 8, etc, Samsung has added several new features. Among these new features, one feature is the new “Keyboard Toolbar“.
Samsung has added a new toolbar at the top of the keyboard which contains a few buttons such as smileys, stickers, GIF keyboard, voice input, clipboard, one-handed keyboard and settings.
You can re-order the toolbar buttons by simply touching and holding the buttons and then drag-n-drop them at desired place.

The new toolbar is a nice addition to the mobile keyboard but some mobile phone users might not like the new keyboard toolbar.
The good thing is that Samsung has provided a built-in option to turn on/off the new keyboard toolbar. If you don’t like the new toolbar, you can disable it using keyboard settings page.
If you are also using a Samsung Galaxy mobile phone and you are getting the new keyboard toolbar in your phone, following steps will help you in removing the unnecessary keyboard toolbar:
1. Samsung has provided a direct button to open keyboard settings on this new toolbar. Tap on the Settings (cog wheel) button present on the keyboard toolbar.
2. It’ll open keyboard settings page. Now tap on “Keyboard layout and feedback” option.

3. Now you’ll get a toggle button to show/hide the keyboard toolbar. Set the toggle button for “Keyboard toolbar” to OFF to remove the toolbar.
Your mobile phone will show a message to tell you that you can still access the toolbar buttons using touching and holding the custom key ‘,‘, tap on OK button.
That’s it. It’ll immediately remove the keyboard toolbar.
In future, if you want to enable the keyboard toolbar again, touch and hold the ‘,‘ (Comma) key present on the bottom of the keyboard. It’ll show a fly-out containing all toolbar buttons. Tap on Settings button and then you can re-enable the keyboard toolbar by settings the toggle button for “Keyboard toolbar” to ON again.

I am actually wondering how do I get rid of the space between buttons ( home back task mngr) at the bottom? It looks awful, especially since i hid my buttons. Can someone directly reply with the answer? Ty
I like the toolbar, but how do I get the usual Emoji shortcut button back in the text typing window? I don’t care if the stickers exist in my phone, but I don’t like them and want them removed from being the in-text default image button. Thank you!
^^ Press and hold on the second key present at the bottom-left corner of keyboard and then select Emoji option.
I don’t mind the keyboard toolbar, but when I use the WhatsApp preview screen for certain senders, I can’t toggle between predictive text and the emoji/sticker toolbar – I can only toggle when I have fully opened WhatsApp, which can be quite irritating as I rely heavily on autocorrect, and auto punctuate, which doesn’t work if the emoji/sticker toolbar is active. Is there are way of predictive/autocorrect being the default option in the keyboard toolbar?
^^ You can re-order buttons on toolbar using the drop-down arrow button.
That still doesn’t work, the toggle button isn’t one that can be reordered, sometimes it appears and sometimes it doesn’t. I’ve got screenshots but can’t attach here.
