[Tip] Remove “Collections” Button from Microsoft Edge Toolbar
If you are using Microsoft Edge web browser and you upgraded to new versions, you might have noticed the new “Collections” button added to the toolbar. The new “Collections” button or icon is shown between the address bar and 3-dots main menu button.
Collections feature allows users to add webpages to separate groups such as college, office, home, travel, fun, etc. You can create different groups or collections sets and add desired websites or webpages to these collections or groups.

Many users may not find the new Collections feature useful and may want to disable or remove the extra “Collections” icon from their browser’s toolbar. This tutorial will help you in getting rid of the newly added Collections button from Microsoft Edge toolbar.
Actually it’s quite easy to delete Collections button from Microsoft Edge toolbar. You can try any of following 2 ways to remove Collections button from Microsoft Edge toolbar:
METHOD 1:
Right-click on Collections button showing in toolbar and you’ll get “Hide from toolbar” option. Click on the option and it’ll immediately remove Collections button from the toolbar.
METHOD 2:
You can also open Microsoft Edge settings page and turn off Collections button in toolbar as described in following steps:

Alternatively, you can press ALT+F keys together to show Edge Menu and then press S key to open Settings page. You can also directly open Edge Settings page using edge://settings/ URL in address bar.
Now go to Appearance tab or section and look for “Show Collections button” toggle option.
The option is enabled or ON by default. Set the toggle option to OFF i.e. disable the option.
That’s it. It’ll immediately remove “Collections” button from Microsoft Edge toolbar.

I can see Microsoft bloating up its new browser with all sorts of features trying to satisfy users. In the end I am not sure some of this shouldn’t be offered more as extensions rather then baked into the browser release? I was impressed initially that Edge Chromium was going to be a lean browser where Chrome once had that distinction. Personally I am annoyed at the fact most browsers seem obsessed with tacking on more and more features as a way of attracting new users.
Thanks VG. Bless you.
Frankly, I dislike the “Connections” icons (Twitter, Email, Facebook, In and +) that show up on the left side of screen covering any articles in that area. Naturally of course Proprietary websites over ride Personal Preference
