Initially the Surf game was available in testing builds of Edge browser only such as Developer version but later Microsoft enabled the game in all versions including the public Stable version of the browser.

The game is addictive and reminds people about similar classic vertical scrolling games which they used to play in good ol’ days of Windows 98 and 8-bit gaming consoles.

Now the good news is that Microsoft has released or made available the Surf game to other web browsers as well.

Actually Microsoft has developed a dedicated web page which allows users to play Let’s Surf game in any browser. Since the game has been developed inside a web page, it has some limitations such as missing game modes, inability to save high scores, no hidden Easter eggs, etc. Guess what? Microsoft wants you to use Microsoft Edge browser to enjoy the full game.

Anyway, to play the game in other web browsers, you need to visit following link in the browser:

Once the page is loaded, you can press Spacebar or double-click inside the game to start the game. You can use Left, Right, Up and Down arrow keys or W, A, S, D keys to move the character or stop the character at current position.

We tested the game in all popular browsers and the game worked in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Vivaldi browsers without any issue.

Unfortunately, the game doesn’t load in Internet Explorer web browser as it’s old and doesn’t support modern web standards.

We wanted to see what happens when we open the link in Microsoft Edge itself. Microsoft Edge was smart enough and told us to type edge://surf URL in address bar to play the full game.
