[Tip] How to Disable Tab Groups Feature in Google Chrome

Tab Groups feature is a new feature introduced in Google Chrome web browser which allows users to organize and arrange tabs into visually distinct groups, e.g. to separate tabs associated with different tasks.

In previous versions of Chrome, Tab Groups feature was disabled by default and interested users needed to manually activate and enable it by modifying a hidden preference/flag.

Now Chrome team has started activating the Tab Groups features to users using Stable version of Chrome browser. The feature is being rolled out in phases, so some users have received the feature and some are still waiting for it.

  1. Finally…Thank you! I hated how my tabs randomly grouped..you saved my mental health lol

  2. NOPE. This doesn’t make any difference at all. It’s STILL opening tabs in groups instead of just opening the tab. I wish I could find a way to really get rid of it.
