After that date Windows 7 will stop receiving security updates and will become vulnerable to security attacks. Windows 10 is more secure operating systems and receives regular updates as well as feature updates which bring new features and enhancements to the OS.
Anyway if you don’t want to upgrade your PC in the meantime and want to stay on Windows 7, following easy methods will help you in disabling and removing Windows 7 End of Support reminder and notification messages. It’ll block and prevent Windows 7 from showing these annoying End of Support notifications to you.
Table of Contents
1. Select “Do Not Remind Me Again” Checkbox
Getting rid of these annoying notifications is easy. When the notification window appears again in your Windows 7 PC, just select and enable “Do not remind me again” checkbox given at the bottom-left corner of the notification window and then click on Close button to cancel the notification message window.
Now Windows 7 will remember your choice and will stop showing those irritating End of Support notifications to you.
2. Disable Notifications Using Registry Editor

You are amazing. And to think of all of those System Restores I’ve done in the past when I did not uncheck a questionable Update. I maintain 6 computers and do only manual updates on all of them. I was frustrated that I could not get Security Update KB4516065 to install. I found I had not installed KB4490628 Servicing Stack Update on this Laptop back in March. I finally resolved it at 3:30 am. Guess I didn’t uncheck the End of Support pop-up.
Anyway, thanks as always. Your advice always works.
BTW, are you still racing?
**UPDATE** KB4490628 uninstalled without restart. It is an HP with x64 Home Premium, I will continue to use my Win7 64-bit Professional as long as I can get third-support software updates. Do not want to buy new hardware.
“…and will become vulnerable to security attacks”
Do you mean vulnerabilities that already exist in Win7 or will Microsoft be introducing new vulnerabilities for Win7.
^^ When Microsoft will stop releasing updates for Windows 7, users will not get security updates and fixes for future security threats, so it’ll become vulnerable.
Strangely I got End of support message in sort of “blue screen” manner before UI of my Win7 started.
I do not have KB4493132 installed, I do not have any registry keys you mentioned, no task schedules and no SipNotify.exe in System32.
Plus I got new updates – KB4534310.
