Recently an AskVG reader asked us whether the popular desktop email client “Mozilla Thunderbird” contains the secret About:Config page similar to Mozilla Firefox web browser?
We all know Mozilla Firefox comes with hidden secret About:Config page which is an advanced configuration editor. It allows users to enable/disable features and tweak Firefox UI and functionality. There are so many preferences/flags available in about:config page which are not accessible via default Firefox Options (about:preferences) page. This no longer is the solution, the new thunderbird has preference not options now and there are no tabs it loads a page and nowhere is there any advanced options… this article must be outdated.
^^ Thanks for the heads up. I have updated the article to include instructions for newer versions of Thunderbird.
I use Thunderbird 115.3.1 now, after a pushed update in Linux Mint Mate 21.2 Victoria 64 bit.
There is NO option to start the configuration editor, the button has disappeared. I extensively searched for it in all available settings menus. I use the Dutch language version of Thunderbird.
