[Tip] Enable Weather Forecast Widget on Opera Speed Dial Page
A few days back, we told you in our exclusive Opera Developer Builds Updates topic (check Update 71) that the latest Opera developer build comes with a new Weather Forecast widget feature.
Now surprisingly, Opera team has added this new feature in the latest stable version of Opera web browser which was released today.
If you are using Opera web browser and you upgraded or installed the new version of Opera, you can add a new Weather Forecast widget on Speed Dial page (also known as New Tab page, Homepage and Start page) with the help of this tutorial.

The new Weather Forecast widget displays your city name and weather information. You can setup your city information using the button given on the widget.
Following screenshot shows the new Weather Forecast widget showing on Speed Dial page in Opera web browser:
By default the widget is not displayed. Actually the feature is deactivated and disabled and interested users need to activate and enable this feature by modifying a hidden preference/flag to show Weather Forecast widget on Speed Dial page.
UPDATE: In newer versions of Opera web browser, the weather forecast widget is shown by default. If you want to disable/remove the widget, following tutorial will help you:

If you also want to show Weather Forecast widget on Opera Speed Dial page, following steps will help you:

1. Launch Opera web browser and type opera://flags in addressbar and press Enter. It’ll open the hidden secret advanced configuration page called “Experiments”.
2. Now click inside “Search flags” text box and type weather. It’ll show following option in the result:

Display weather widget on startpage’s top left corner – Mac, Windows, Linux

3. To activate and enable Weather Forecast widget feature in Opera browser, select “Enabled” from the drop-down box.
4. Opera will ask you to restart the browser. Click on “Relaunch now” button to restart Opera.
After relaunching Opera browser, check the Speed Dial page and you’ll see the new Weather Forecast widget showing on the top-left corner of the page.
If you hover mouse cursor over the widget, it will expand in full mode.
BONUS TIP:
Once you enable the above mentioned preference/flag on opera://flags page, it adds a new option “Show weather widget” to Opera Settings page. So you can turn on or off this option to show or hide Weather Forecast widget on Speed Dial page quickly and easily.
1. Launch Opera web browser, click on Opera Menu button and then click on Settings option. Alternatively you can directly launch Settings page by pressing Alt+P keys together.
2. Now scroll down to bottom on settings page and click on “Advanced” link. It’ll show advanced settings options.
3. Again scroll down and you’ll see “Start page” section. Now look for “Show weather widget” option.
You can set the toggle button to ON or OFF to add or remove Weather Forecast widget on Speed Dial page.
You can also set the Temperature Unit by selecting C or F from the drop-down box.

WHICH IS A CITY I WOULD NEVER USE I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING I CAN THINK OF AND IT KEEPS DEFAULTING BACK TO DEARING KS. I HAVE TRIED THE LOCATION SELECTION MANY TIMES AND THE RESULTS ARE THE SAME.
