This tutorial will help you in enabling new “Easy Clean” option in CCleaner software. It’ll also help you if you want to remove new “Easy Clean” option and want to restore classic “Cleaner”option in CCleaner.

The newer versions of popular cleaning and optimization tool “CCleaner” come with a new feature or functionality known as “Easy Clean” mode. The new Easy Clean mode is a simplified cleaning mode which has been developed for non-technical users who can’t understand which options should they select in CCleaner to clean temporary files from their computers.

Inexperienced users had difficulties in understanding the options which were required to select/deselect before start cleaning using CCleaner. That’s why CCleaner team introduced new Easy Clean mode option to help non-tech savvy users in using CCleaner easily without worries.

The new Easy Clean mode allows users to clean junk and temporary files quickly and easily by clicking on Analyze and Clean buttons. It’s now very easy to use CCleaner to delete temporary files from computers to free up disk space.

Easy Clean option has been put at the top of the main sidebar where all options such as Tools, Options, etc are present. Don’t worry! The previous Cleaner option is still present for advanced users but now it has been renamed to “Custom Clean” option.

Older CCleaner users who prefer to use classic Cleaner option, can still use the feature by clicking on “Custom Clean” option given in sidebar. It’s same as before. No changes have been made to this classic cleaner function.

Many CCleaner users reported that the new Easy Clean option is not visible in their CCleaner program even if they upgraded to the latest version. Some CCleaner users complained that Easy Clean option appeared when they installed new CCleaner version but after some time it automatically disappeared from the program and now they can’t find Easy Clean option in the tool.

On the other hand, there are some CCleaner users who got the new Easy Clean option but now they want to disable or remove it from CCleaner as they want to use the previous advanced Cleaner option by default. They don’t want to switch to Custom Clean option every time they launch CCleaner.

Today in this tutorial, we’ll tell you how to enable or disable new Easy Clean option in CCleaner. You can show or hide Easy Clean option in CCleaner by modifying Windows Registry. That is the reason behind Easy Clean option appearing and disappearing for several CCleaner users.

If the registry key is set to 0, the Easy Clean option is turned off and disappears to users and classic Cleaner option becomes available to users as shown in following screenshot:

  1. Hi VG,
I have followed your tip to disable the Easy Clean option in CCleaner and it work fine until the next time that I start CCleaner and it has then returned. What if I remove the String Value completely?

  2. ^^ It might be possible that CCleaner automatically checked and re-enabled the page. Deleting the key will not work.
