[Tip] Enable New Redesigned Extensions Menu Panel in Chrome

Google is working on a complete redesign UI for the Extensions menu panel in Chrome. Currently the new UI has been labelled as “Extensions Menu Access Control” and not enabled by default. This article will help you in activating and enabling the new redesigned Extensions menu UI right now in Chrome.

The new Extensions menu panel or flyout is available in Google Chrome 115.0 and later versions. By default, the new Extensions menu UI is disabled as the work is under development at the moment. Interested Chrome users can manually enable it for testing by modifying a hidden secret preference/flag given below in this article.

First of all, you’ll notice that the previous jigsaw puzzle piece icon of Extensions menu has been replaced with a new Notepad with tick mark icon in the toolbar. It looks like a To Do list icon at the moment. Google team might change the icon in future versions of Chrome.

When you click on the new Extensions icon in Chrome toolbar, you’ll get a completely revamped menu panel containing separate toggle buttons to turn on/off one or all extensions for the current website. It means, the new Extensions menu will allow users to allow or block any particular or all extensions on specific sites.

The UI of new Extensions menu panel looks unfinished because it has been developed to fit with the upcoming Chrome Refresh 2023 design UI which is scheduled to release later this year. You can learn more about the upcoming redesigned UI of Chrome in following article:
