[Tip] Enable Fingerprint Lock Protection in WhatsApp on Android Mobile Phone

Finally WhatsApp team has added the much awaited fingerprint lock feature to its popular messenger app “WhatsApp”. Now if you have a Google Android mobile phone which contains fingerprint unlock mechanism, you can enable the same fingerprint lock protection to WhatsApp.

It’ll be very beneficial to people who give their mobile phones to their children or others to watch videos, play games, etc but don’t want others to check their WhatsApp messages. Now they can protect their WhatsApp chat using fingerprint lock so that no one else can access and read their chat in WhatsApp.

Once you enable fingerprint lock in WhatsApp, it’ll ask you to unlock the app using your fingerprint every time you launch the app or after particular time interval which you set in Settings.

  1. Is there any system requirements for this? In my Samsung S5 does not appear that option even though I have the latest version of the app. I also don’t see the groups option to avoid people add me.

The new splash screen with the logo when I open the app is kind of annoying

    Thanks..

  2. Thank you so much. Last night my whatsapp version was updated and i was not aware of this new feature addition. Now enabled it thanks to your tip.

WhatsApp should show some kind of notification about new features so that users like me can know about them.

Thanks again for sharing the tip.
