Solving the Mystery of #FunZone (5924102) Contact Saved in Nokia 105 Feature Phone

In this article, I’m going to discuss about a strange and suspicious contact number 5924102 saved with the name #FunZone in Nokia 105 feature phone. If you also noticed the same contact number automatically saved in your Nokia 105 mobile phone, this article will help you in understanding the reason behind this contact presence and deleting or removing the contact from your mobile phonebook, if possible.

Strange #FunZone Contact Present in Nokia 105 Mobile Phone

Recently I purchased a BSNL prepaid SIM for my father. He was already using an Airtel postpaid SIM in a feature phone Nokia 105 (single SIM model). Since the existing phone supported single SIM only, I decided to purchase a new dual SIM mobile phone for my father. I wanted to give him a new smartphone but my father requested me to purchase a keypad phone.

I searched and found that Nokia released a new dual SIM model of same Nokia 105 phone recently. Since my father was already using Nokia 105 mobile phone, I decided to purchase the new dual SIM model of same phone so that my father doesn’t face any problem while using the new phone.

After getting the new Nokia 105 dual SIM phone, I inserted both SIMs (BSNL and Airtel) and the phone was working excellent.

When I checked phonebook to transfer phone numbers, I noticed a strange contact displaying at the top of the phonebook. The contact name was showing as #FunZone and the phone number associated with it was 5924102.

You can’t Delete or Move #FunZone Contact in Nokia 105 Mobile Phone

First I thought that the number might came bundled with the new BSNL SIM, so I decided to delete the contact. When I opened the number using Details option, only following 3 options were available to select:

  • Call
  • Assign tone

So there was no option given to delete the contact.

When I checked the number again, I noticed the mobile phone icon showing next to the contact name. It means the contact was saved in the mobile phone and not the SIM.

So the strange #FunZone contact didn’t come saved in BSNL or Airtel SIM. It came preinstalled or saved with Nokia 105 mobile phone and there was no way to get rid of the unwanted contact number.

#FunZone Contact Shows at the Top on First Position and can be Accidentally Dialed

That’s a very bad decision taken by Nokia to use “#” symbol in the beginning of the #FunZone contact name which keeps the contact at first place in phonebook and users can accidentally dial the number while opening the phonebook.

The worst part is that you can’t delete or edit the contact. Nokia should have at least allowed users to edit #FunZone contact name so that users could move the contact to the end of the phonebook.

I consider this #FunZone contact as an advertisement or spam promotion. Why would anyone want a promotional contact always displaying at the top of his contacts list?

More Information about #FunZone Contact Number

When I tried to dial the #FunZone number, I received a message that the number is switched off. It seems Nokia decided to discontinue the phone number after receiving complaints from users who purchased this mobile phone.

I didn’t find this #FunZone number automatically present in any other mobile phone whether it’s a feature phone or smartphone. I think it’s exclusive to Nokia 105 mobile phone only.

I would like to mention one more thing! #FunZone contact was not present in previous single SIM model of Nokia 105 phone. The contact comes saved in new dual SIM model of Nokia 105 feature phone.
