If you want to remove “Independent Voices” or Try Colorways themes banners from Firefox View and Add-ons Manager pages in Mozilla Firefox web browser, this article will help you.

In newer versions of Firefox browser, if you open Firefox View page, you see a big banner or section with the title “Independent Voices” at the right-side as shown in following screenshot:

The “Independent Voices” section contains “Color can change culture. The latest colorways celebrate voices making the world a better place.” text information. There is also a “Try Colorways” button given which allows users to apply new Colorways themes to change look-n-feel of Firefox UI.

A similar “Independent Voices: Colors that change culture” banner appears on Add-ons Manager (about:addons) page. The Colorways theme is present on the Themes tab with the text “Vibrant new colorways from Firefox. Available for a limited time.” as shown in following screenshot:

1. Open Firefox and type about:config in the addressbar and press Enter. It’ll show you a warning message, click on “Accept the Risk and Continue” button. It’ll open Firefox’s hidden secret advanced configuration page i.e. about:config page.

2. Now type colorways in Search filter box and you’ll see following preference in the window:

3. Double-click on the preference browser.theme.colorway-closet and set its value to false. Alternatively, you can click on the Toggle icon given next to the preference name.

That’s it. Now try to open Firefox View or Add-ons Manager page and Try Colorways button and section will disappear from those pages.

NOTE: The Firefox View page might still show “New colorways are on the way” until January 17 but the Independent Voices logo, section and Try Colorways button will no longer appear.

PS: In future, if you decide to restore Independent Voices and Try Colorways sections in Firefox, set the above mentioned preference to true again.
