[Opera Tip] How to Enable/Disable Warn on Close Multiple Tabs

Older versions of Opera web browser didn’t warn or confirm before closing browser window with multiple tabs opened. If a user opened multiple tabs in Opera and he accidentally clicked on the Close button, the browser window immediately closed and the user lost access to all running tabs.

It was a very annoying issue and finally Opera team fixed it in newer versions of Opera web browser (Check UPDATE 61). Now Opera comes with this much awaited “Warn on Close” feature. Now if you have multiple tabs or windows opened and you click on Close button, Opera shows a warning message or confirmation prompt to ask your permission as shown in following screenshot:

If you click on “Close window” button, Opera quits. If you click on “Cancel” button, Opera doesn’t close its window.

The warning or confirmation window also contains a checkbox “Do not warn me when closing a window“. If you enable the checkbox in the window, it’ll disable the new feature and Opera will never warn or confirm before closing multiple tabs.

If you find this new warning feature annoying and want to disable it or if you accidentally selected the “Do not warn me” checkbox and now you want to re-enable/restore the warning message in Opera, this tutorial will help you.

Today in this tutorial, we’ll tell you how to enable or disable warn on closing multiple tabs feature in Opera web browser. We’ll also share a secret way to permanently turn on/off this new feature.
