UPDATE: Opera One 111 Developer Version Available

Opera team has released Dev version of Opera 111 for testing. Opera team is working on a completely redesigned and revamped version of Opera web browser which is called “Opera One“. The new version replaces the old Opera web browser for Windows, Linux and MacOS.

Opera One is a Chromium-based browser which features modular design, liquid navigation experience, multi-threaded compositor, Tab Islands, AI-based features, etc.

Latest Opera 69 Developer build comes with new Weather Forecast widget on Speed Dial page or New Tab page.

UPDATE 70:

Latest Opera 67 Developer build comes with new pop-up visual tab-cycler feature which replaces the old tab cycler which is shown by Opera when the user presses Ctrl+Tab or Ctrl+Shift+Tab keys together to navigate between running tabs.

Latest Opera 67 Developer build comes with new Workspace feature which allows users to create separate groups of tabs for better arrangement. Workspace feature can be accessed using the left sidebar.

UPDATE 68:

Latest Opera 65 Developer build comes with a faster Start Page (or Speed Dial page, New Tab page). Now it loads instantly as soon as you open a new tab. The new start page optimizes your browser’s memory usage.

If you don’t like the new Start Page behavior or face problems, you can disable it by setting Shared Start Page flag to Disabled in Opera://flags page.

UPDATE 67:

Latest Opera 65 Developer build comes with redesigned Reborn 3 (R3) UI for dropdown search suggestions list shown in address bar.

This new UI is called Reborn 3 (R3) UI and displays suggestions over the page with an overlay mask. Opera dims the page content and puts focus on address bar suggestions list.

UPDATE 66:

Latest Opera 62 Developer build comes with improvements to Snapshot Editor. Now you can add custom text on snapshots.

This feature is not enabled by default. You can activate and enable this functionality by setting “Text tool for snapshot editor” preference to Enabled using opera://flags page.

UPDATE 65:

Latest Opera 62 Developer build comes with a new feature called “Speed Dials Page Preloading“. Generally when you open a new tab page or speed dial page in Opera, the speed dial shortcuts appear on the page with a few milliseconds delay. You can notice a flickering on the page.

If you enable this new preloading feature, the shortcuts on new tab page or speed dial page will load instantly and there will be no flickering at all.

You can enable this new feature by setting “Eliminates flickering when switching between speed dials” (Speed dial flicker buster) preference to Enabled on opera://flags page.

UPDATE 64:

Latest Opera 59 Developer build comes with a brand new UI (User Interface) called R3 or Reborn 3. It comes with redesigned light and dark themes, minimal UI and many other enhancements.

UPDATE 63:

Latest Opera 59 Developer build shows notification badges (count) on Opera Taskbar icon. Currently Opera shows notification badges for unread messages in supported communicators (Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Telegram).

You can disable/turn off these notifications badges by disabling “Enable notification badges for messengers” option in Settings -> Sidebar -> Manage sidebar page.

UPDATE 62:

Latest Opera 57 Beta build allows users to show or hide Search box in Quick Access Panel (previously known as Enhanced Address Bar).

You can enable/disable Search box in Quick Access Panel by setting the “Enable Quick Access Search Box” toggle to On or Off in “Settings -> Quick Access -> Manage Quick Access” page.

UPDATE 61:

Latest Opera 58 developer build fixes the most annoying issue in Opera i.e. missing “Warn on Close” functionality. Previous versions of Opera web browser never warned or confirmed before closing multiple tabs. Many times users accidentally clicked on Close button and it resulted loss of data entered into online forms and loss of running tabs.

Now the latest Opera 58 developer build comes with this much awaited feature. It now shows a confirmation dialog box asking for users action whether the user wants to close the window or not.

If you check the checkbox “Do not warn me when closing a window“, the confirmation dialog box will no longer be displayed. To restore it, you’ll need to turn on the option “Warn on closing window with multiple tabs” present under “User interface” section in Opera Settings page.

This “Warn on Close” feature can be completely enabled/disabled in Opera by customizing “Warn on closing browser window with multiple tabs” flag in opera://flags page.

UPDATE 60:

Latest Opera 58 developer build comes with a new feature which allows users to open a new tab by middle-clicking on tab bar. So if you middle-click using your mouse on an empty area of tab bar, it’ll launch a new tab in Opera.

This build also comes with a new wallpaper.

UPDATE 59:

Latest Opera 57 beta build now shows personalized news recommendations on start page/speed dials page using an improved, AI-driven news-retrieving mechanism. The start page now also shows Netflix recommendations in a special section in the news.

UPDATE 58:

Latest Opera 57 developer build comes with a new page zoom level indicator in the combined address bar and search bar which pops up if you change the zoom level of a web page.

You can now also manage the available tools/elements for the new enhanced address bar (now called as Quick Access Panel) using “Settings -> Quick Access -> Manage Quick Access” option.

UPDATE 57:

Latest Opera 56 beta build comes with redesigned About page which provides useful information about the installed version of Opera along with system information and full paths of installation, profile and cache. The bottom of the About page shows legal information.

Latest Opera 56 developer build comes with volume control options on video pop-outs.

Now you can also enable/disable “Scroll to the top of the page by clicking on the active tab” feature using Settings page.

UPDATE 55:

Latest Opera 56 developer build comes with enhanced address bar. The new enhanced drop-down menu in combined address bar and search bar now shows speed dials and other page functionalities such as copy, paste, save web page as PDF, take screenshots using Snapshot, add to speed dial, etc.

To open the enhanced address bar drop-down menu, simply click on the combined address bar and search bar.

If you don’t like the new enhanced address bar feature, you can disable it by changing “Better Address Bar Experience” preference to Disabled using opera://flags page.

The new material design Settings page has also been divided into four basic sections: Basic, Privacy & security, Features, Browser.

UPDATE 54:

Latest Opera 56 developer build comes with a new “Report an issue“option under Help menu to quickly report bugs and issues to Opera team.

This build also comes with a new preference “Partner bookmarks opt-out” on opera://flags page to disable/remove sponsored content on bookmarks bar and speed dials page.

UPDATE 53:

Latest Opera 55 beta build comes with new material design Settings page. It also comes with a new detailed badge pop-up for web pages when you click on the badge present at the left side of the address bar.

You can also now install Google Chrome extensions in Opera web browser. When you’ll visit Chrome extensions store, you’ll see a sliding toolbar at the top of the page to install the extension in Opera.

UPDATE 52:

Latest Opera 55 developer build comes with Bookmarks bar turned on/enabled by default. It also contains 5 suggested bookmarks in it. You can turn off/disable the bookmarks bar disabling “Settings -> Appearance -> Show bookmarks bar” option. To remove the 5 suggested bookmarks from bookmarks bar, go to Bookmarks -> Bookmarks Bar menu. You can also press Ctrl+Shift+B keys together to open bookmarks manager page.

UPDATE 51:

Latest Opera 55 developer build comes with new material design Settings page which looks similar to Google Chrome‘s settings page.
