No More Feature Updates for Windows 10, End of Support on October 14, 2025

Important news for Windows 10 users! Microsoft has officially announced that Windows 10 will not get any new feature update in future. The current Windows 10 version 22H2 (2022 Update) is the final version and will be supported till October 14, 2025.

Windows 10 22H2 is the Final Version

In October last year, Microsoft released a new feature update called 2022 Update or 22H2 for Windows 10. According to Microsoft, 22H2 is the final version of Windows 10 which means Microsoft has stopped working on any new feature update for Windows 10.

Here is the official announcement from Microsoft:

As documented on the Windows 10 Enterprise and Education and Windows 10 Home and Pro lifecycle pages, Windows 10 will reach end of support on October 14, 2025. The current version, 22H2, will be the final version of Windows 10, and all editions will remain in support with monthly security update releases through that date. Existing LTSC releases will continue to receive updates beyond that date based on their specific lifecycles.

We highly encourage you to transition to Windows 11 now as there won’t be any additional Windows 10 feature updates.

So it’s clear that Microsoft will no longer release any new feature update for Windows 10 operating system. 22H2 is the last feature update released for Windows 10.

Windows 10 End of Support Date is October 14, 2025

Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. So Windows 10 users have approx. 2.5 years of support left from Microsoft. During the support period, Microsoft will keep delivering month security updates to all Windows 10 devices. But you should not expect any new feature or enhancement provided by these updates. All the future updates will be regular monthly updates to fix bugs and issues.

Microsoft Advises Windows 10 Users to Upgrade to Windows 11

Microsoft Announces Windows 11 LTSC (Long Term Servicing Channel)

Microsoft also shared information about the time frame for the next Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) release of Windows 11. Microsoft announced that the next Windows LTSC releases will be available in the second half of 2024.

Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC and Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC will be the names for the upcoming LTSC releases.

Microsoft will provide more details about the LTSC versions as the company gets closer to availability.
