New Jio Phone 2 With WhatsApp Coming on 15th August

Good news for people living in India. Reliance Jio Infocomm has announced that the next model version of popular “Jio Phone” will be called Jio Phone 2 and will be launched on August 15th.

There were a few issues in previous Jio Phone such as no WhatsApp support, basic keypad, etc. The new Jio Phone 2 will feature a physical QWERTY keyboard like BlackBerry phones which will help users in typing on their mobile phones quickly and easily.

The new Jio Phone 2 will come with WhatsApp, Facebook and YouTube apps preinstalled, so now Jio Phone users can also enjoy WhatsApp Messenger on their phones.

Technical Specifications of New Jio Phone 2:

New Jio Phone 2 comes with quite similar technical specifications as previous Jio Phone. For example the display size, RAM, ROM, camera, battery, operating system are same as before. But there are some improvements and changes such as dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, etc.

Processor: 1.2 GHz dual core

RAM: 512MB

Internal Storage (ROM): 4GB (can be expanded up to 128GB using MicroSD card)

Jio Phone 2 will be available from August 15 for Rs. 2,999.

There is also a new Jio Monsoon Hungama offer available from July 21 which will allow existing Jio Phone customers to exchange their old Jio Phone for new Jio Phone 2 for just Rs. 501.

Apart from Jio Phone, Jio also announced the new “Jio GigaFiber” fixed-line broadband service which will offer 1Gbps Internet speed.  It’ll be launched in 1,100 cities in India. The service will also use a GigaTV set top box (STB) along with the router to provide ultra HD (High Definition) entertainment on TV sets.
