Microsoft has almost finished working on the upcoming Windows 11 22H2 feature update which is going to release very soon to public. Since a few months, Microsoft was releasing testing builds of Windows 11 22H2 to Windows Insiders registered to Dev and Beta channels. Now the 22H2 build is almost finalized (RTM) and Microsoft is releasing 22H2 builds to Beta channel only to fix and fine tune any bugs remaining.

On the other hand, the Dev channel insiders have started receiving testing builds of Windows 11 23H2 i.e. Sun Valley 3 (SV3).

So if you are on Beta channel, you’ll receive Windows 11 22H2 builds which is going to release to public later this year and if you are registered on Dev channel, you’ll test drive the next Windows 11 version i.e. 23H2 scheduled to release in next year.

Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25115 Released, Here is What’s New and Fixed

The first Windows 11 23H2 build comes with a single new feature called “Suggested Actions“. Here is the official description provided by Microsoft:

Suggested Actions feature has been developed to make everyday tasks quicker in Windows 11. For example, if you copy a date, time or a phone number in Windows 11, Windows will suggest some actions relevant to you such as creating calendar events or making phone calls using your favorite apps.

When you copy a phone number, Windows 11 will display a tiny fly-out containing icons or buttons to call the phone number using Teams or other installed apps that offer click-to-dial call functions.

Similarly, on copying a date or time, Windows 11 will show a fly-out to create event using supported calendar apps. One you select an option present on the fly-out, the app is launched with its corresponding calendar event creation page with auto filled date and/or time.

The Suggested Actions fly-out or pop-up features an inline light dismissible UI.

At the moment, this feature is only available to Windows Insiders in the U.S.

Also this first build of Windows 11 23H2 is not available for ARM64 PCs. Microsoft promises to release 23H2 builds to ARM64 PCs soon.

Improvements and Fixes in Windows 11 23H2 Build

This 23H2 build also comes with a good set of general improvements and fixes such as following:

  • Updated the underlying speech platform to improve voice activity detection for voice access, live captions, and voice typing, as well as address some issues with how punctuation is recognized.
  • Changes to help improve the performance of loading Home page in File Explorer.
  • Improved how Narrator reads out remaining space available in System -> Storage.

Known Issues in Windows 11 23H2 Build

There are some known issues in this build which are as following:

  • Some games that use Easy Anti-Cheat may crash or cause your PC to bugcheck.
  • Certain apps in full screen (e.g., video players) prevent live captions from being visible.
  • Certain apps positioned near the top of the screen and closed before live captions is run will re-launch behind the live captions window positioned at top. Use the system menu (ALT + Spacebar) while the app has focus to move the app’s window further down.
