Left-side of the image shows the new modern Details Pane and the right-side shows the good old classic Details Pane available in Windows 11 File Explorer.

The classic Details Pane present in older versions of Windows 11 was faster and displayed mode details about the selected file. The new modernized Details Pane is a little bit slower compared to the old Details Pane and shows less details about the selected item.

PS: The Details Pane can be easily turned on/off by pressing ALT+SHIFT+P keys together in File Explorer. ALT+P hotkey can be used to turn on/off Preview Pane in File Explorer.

Microsoft introduced the new Details Pane in Windows 11 Moment 4 Update (4th feature drop) and Windows 11 23H2 (2023 Update). These new versions of Windows 11 come with a redesigned File Explorer which has been developed using WinUI 3. The new File Explorer is also known as Windows App SDK version of File Explorer.

If you don’t like the new modernized Details Pane and want to restore classic Details Pane in your Windows 11 device, here is a good news for you.
