Google Android 9.0 “Pie” Features List
After so much speculations, finally Google revealed the official name of the latest Android version 9.0. Google Android 9.0 will be known as “Pie“. Yes, you read it right. Many people speculated that the Android 9 will be called Pencake, Peppermint, etc but now it’s official. Android 9 will be called “Android Pie“.
Android 9 Pie will focus on AI (Artificial Intelligence) to make your mobile phone smarter, simpler and more personal. Android Pie will learn from users activities and will help you in using your smartphone more easily.

Following are some interesting and important features present in Android 9 Pie:
Adaptive Battery: Learns the apps you use most and prioritizes battery for them, so the apps and services you don’t use as much aren’t a battery drain.
Adaptive Brightness: Learns how you like to set the brightness in different settings, and automatically does it for you.
App Actions: Predicts what you’ll want to do next based on your context and displays that action right on your phone.
Slices: Shows relevant information from your favorite apps when you need it.
New Gesture-based System Navigation: Now you can switch between apps and get to what you need more naturally by using gestures instead of buttons. Featuring a single home button like Apple’s iPhone. You can swipe up from anywhere to see newly designed full-screen preview/overview of your recently used apps, swipe left and right to easily navigate between them, and tap on one to jump in.
Smart Text Selection: Recognizes the meaning of the text you’re selecting and suggests relevant actions.

Redesigned Quick Settings: A more consistent user experience for Quick Settings with all toggles, plus an updated visual design and added informational subtext. A better way to take and edit screenshots, simplified volume controls, an easier way to manage notifications and more.
Dashboard: Helps you understand how you’re spending time on your device. You can see how many notifications you get, plus how much time you spend in apps and how often you check your phone.
App Timer: Lets you set time limits on apps and grays out the icon on your home screen when the time is up.

Screenshots: Now, you can take screenshots easily from the power menu and draw, annotate, or crop them quickly.
If you are thinking about the availability, an over-the-air (OTA) update to Android 9 has begun rolling out to Pixel phones. Devices that participated in the Beta program such as Sony, Xiaomi, HMD Global, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus and Essential, as well as all qualifying Android One devices, will receive this update by the end of this fall. Google is also working with a number of other partners to launch or upgrade devices to Android 9 this year.

Excuse me for seeking a solution for a problem which has nothing to do with the above article.
I am unable to see my contacts lists in yahoo mail for the past 3 months. When composing I get the mail address as soon as I begin to type the name. But I cannot edit my contacts list. I always get a message “Thank you for your patience. Our engineers are trying to quickly fix the problem”. I have checked for help through yahoo, and also through internet. Nothing helpful as many report the same problem.
As a last resort I am writing to you to see if you can help get over this problem.
