[Easter Egg] Hidden Secret Fishing Game in Google Search

If you love finding hidden secret things and Easter eggs in software programs, this article will definitely please you.

Yesterday, I found a surprising and interesting thing in Google Search while searching for a URL which was not present in Google Search database. Actually I searched for an Amazon product URL and Google Search returned its no results page also known as 404 not found page with a message “Your search did not match any documents”.

Surprisingly, the no results page was containing a hidden secret game featuring a cute cartoon character.

Following screenshot shows the secret Ice Fishing game found on Google Search no results page:

The cartoon character was animated and when I clicked on the image, the game started and the character caught a fish in its fishing hook and stored it in the bucket.

The game is very simple and not very addictive. But finding this secret Easter egg is definitely exciting and you can definitely waste your time (if you have) in playing the game.

How to Reveal Hidden Secret Easter Egg in Google Search

I tried the secret game in other web browsers and it was present in all web browsers.

To reveal and enjoy this Easter egg, do as following:

• Open Google.com in your web browser or click inside the Google Search box present on New Tab page.
• Now type any random text string or numbers in the Search box which should not exist on Internet. You can type anything on your keyboard randomly. You can also include numbers.

If everything goes correctly and the string is not present in Google Search database, you’ll get no results page along with the funny and interesting Fishing game.
