Download Official “Apple Devices” App for Windows 11 to Manage and Sync iPhone, iPad and iPod

If you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod and looking for a free iTunes alternative app to manage your device, here is an interesting news for you. Apple has released an official app called “Apple Devices” for Windows 11 operating system which can be used to manage and sync Apple devices from a Windows 11 PC.

In past, Windows users were forced to use Apple’s iTunes software to connect and manage their iPhone, iPad or iPod. There were also many 3rd party software available to manage Apple devices.

Now Apple has released a new official app specially for Windows 11 users. “Apple Devices” is a new Windows 11 app available on Microsoft Store which can be used to:

  • Manage Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod and iPod touch) from Windows PC
  • Sync music, movies and TV shows from Windows computer to Apple devices
  • Update or downgrade software of iPhone, iPad, iPod, or iPod touch
  • Backup and restore iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch data

The app interface is very clean and simple and it’s very fast app compared to iTunes.

There are 5 tabs available to select: General, Music, Movies, TV Shows and Photos. The working of app is quite similar to iTunes. You just need to connect your Apple device to your Windows PC and it’ll automatically detect the attached device and will display information about the device. Now you can sync data as well as update the software of your Apple device.

The Settings page of the app currently displays the app version only which is 1.0.0.38 (1.0.9729.0) at the moment.

Important Information Before Using Apple Devices in Windows

Apple Devices app is currently under development and testing phase and the released version is actually a Preview version and has some limitations mentioned below:

  • Since it’s a preview version, not all features may work as expected.
  • Once you install Apple Devices app, iTunes will no longer open and audiobooks or podcasts on your device will be inaccessible.

The mentioned issues will be fixed in future versions of Apple Devices app. Apple might also release a compatible version of iTunes to fix these issues.

After installing Apple Devices, if you want to revert back to iTunes, you’ll need to uninstall Apple Devices app from your computer system.

Apple Devices app can be used in Windows 11 22H2 (version 22621.0 or higher) only.

Apple Devices can be considered the best alternative to Apple’s iTunes software and it might be possible that Apple Devices will completely replace iTunes on Windows in future.
