  1. @rudrax

Use universal theme patcher. It is safe to use and it can restore the default uxtheme.dll if you wish.

To download just click here and click Save

  2. ^^ AeroVG Ei8ht theme can be used in Windows 8. On the other hand, AeroVG Ei8ht.1ne theme was created for Windows 8.1 users.

  3. Might try it once i switch to windows 8. Frankly i haven’t been the least bit interested in windows 8 since it’s launch. Still on my windows 7 with aerovg 7 theme

  4. ^^ Yep. I know about that issue and an update is coming to fix the issue very soon. 😉

UPDATE: The theme has been updated. Please re-download the theme and you’ll no longer see the jumplist bug.

  5. Patched Windows 8.1 using UxStyle , apparently none of the effects are seen (all the 4)………………

  6. I was pretty thrilled with this very nice theme. Sadly, after a couple of days, the window buttons reverted to the original win 8.1 style instead of the Longhorn/ 7 ones. Reinstalling the theme patcher and the theme has not helped. Any ideas?

  7. ^^ It might happened that Windows installed new updates which overwrote patched files. Now once you patch the files again, apply default Windows theme and then re-apply AeroVG theme.

  8. hi, is there any way to change minimize, maximize and close buttons in AeroVG Ei8ht.1ne RTM theme to normal win 8.1 style (plain and flat instead of 3d like)

  9. ^^ No. 3rd party themes are safe to use. Transformation packs might be harmful sometimes as they also change system files, etc.

  10. I have extracted AeroVG Ei8ht theme on windows 8. may i’m gonna use this theme?

  11. My Se7en UI theme does the same thing, but doesn’t have the Windows 3.1-style minimize and maximize buttons (no offense.)

  12. Is this theme available for Windows 10 RTM? If not, please port this theme or tell us how to port this theme to Windows 10.
    Thanks in Advance

  13. ^^ Thanks for showing your interest in this theme. I’ll try to port it to Windows 10 in future. Cant confirm any date. 🙂

  14. Thanks VG! Good to know that you keep porting AeroVG to Windows 10 in mind!

I’m holding off on Windows 10 until there’s a non-flat theme for it. I can’t stand flatness in a high-res GUI. Flatness might work on phones and tablets, but it’s a bad idea for large screens. Especially in a heavy multi-tasking environment. Flat wide borders overlapping each other are super ugly and they actually hamper productivity.
